Pepe Belmonte is...

Pepe Belmonte is a folk-blues guitar player and singer song-writer. He grew up on the West coast of Ireland, Co. Cork. He worked for a while under the wing of an honest "Dentisht" to buy his first steel string acoustic and would hitch-hike across the peninsula for a guitar lesson. Mysteries of live performance were revealed to him here in the early days and it seems they hooked him deep because he's been playing live ever since. Since 1998, Pepe has been home recording and releasing melodies and songs; solo, with bands and other independent artists. In the late Winter of 2010, he finished recording his Debut album 'THE HERMIT'S WALTZ' and had it set for release alongside his Record Store Day Tour (see below). Prior to this, songs from the album were used in an independent feature film 'THE HOUR OF LIVING' in which Pepe plays "The Singer". The film is set for release later in 2011. The album received 4 star reviews from MAVERICK MAGAZINE and FOLKRADIO.CO.UK made it album of the week just before the tour was about to commence.

The release of THE HERMIT'S WALTZ and the Record Store Tour were both postponed when Pepe was involved in a serious bicycle accident earlier this year. He is still in recovery somewhere in the English countryside not far from London, a city he holds hallowed for all its unsung glory and all those small acoustic clubs and pubs where he cut his teeth.
